Today we we visited two temples - first Kiyomizudera and then we walked up the famous Philosophers Path to Ginkakuji. Kiyomizudera existed before Kyoto was Kyoto, in the eighth century. It is known as "the love temple."
There is an area of the temple with two stones about 18 meters apart and they say that if you can walk between the two with your eyes closed you will find love. If you get help or guidance from others, you will need guidance from others to find love. While most people just took a picture with the stones Julio and I did the exercise. Turns out Julio found love right away and I needed guidance and ran into a few people before finding it.
Also at this shrine there were some metal staffs which all the tourists took a try at lifting. The largest one was 90 kg and no one could lift it. Julio got together with another person and they still couldn't. Finally with a third person, the man in the pink shirt below, they did it.
As far as temples go, this one was fun!
Happy Cinco de Mayo, kids. (Well, it's 5-5 here anyway.)
